Marine Reach Fiji is a non-denominational Christian organization that is dedicated to Linking Resources to Needs, which is based out of Lautoka in Viti Levu, the largest island in Fiji. We exist to serve the people of Fiji evangelically and medically (including dental, optometry, ophthalmic and physiotherapy), spreading the truth of God’s love through our words and caring. This takes the form of regular medical outreaches which travel to the villages and islands and provide for those who find access to medical healthcare difficult. We are well equipped and have excellent facilities to fulfil God’s calling in these areas.
We have provided medically, dentally and optically for more than 70,000 Fijians since we began in 2002 and aim to further God’s reach amongst this nation. Although we have used ships on many occasions in the past (learn more about Marine Reach Fiji’s origins visit our History page) we are currently providing for Viti Levu via land-based transport.
While our main focus is on medical outreaches, we offer hosting for YWAM teams, Church Groups, Youth groups and teams and individuals wishing to be involved in medical and practical volunteer opportunities. Our staff is primarily focussed around medical healthcare, but evangelism is just as much a part of Marine Reach Fiji as anything else. Therefore we welcome all those with a heart to serve God to get involved, whether they have a healthcare background or not. We are always keen to bring new people here on short-term outreaches, or to volunteer as staff here in Marine Reach Fiji.
Marine Reach Fiji is itself part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) – an international movement of Christians who desire to know God and make Him known throughout the world. YWAM started in 1960 as a small group of young people who wanted to encourage others to get involved in mission work and has now grown to include over 17,000 full-time staff in 171 countries.
